Long overdue update

I know...its been awhile. I have been incognito recently. But I promise it is with just cause. My hubby recently took a new job and we have relocated. So the past few months have been busy with packing, moving and unpacking.

Taylor and Bryon are doing good. They have adjusted to their new house and I believe they are loving it. We moved into a new time zone and the babies quickly adjusted to the time change as well.

Bryon is pulling up to a standing position, cruising on the couch and stealing toys from his sister. He also knows how to sign milk and more. Taylor is just learning to pull to a standing position. She crawls all over the place and shows her anger when Bryon takes her toys!

In this picture they actually are playing peacefully! Bryon hates to wear socks too. That is why he only has one sock on!

Tay likes to climb into the bouncy seat. She knew she was busted so that explains the big grin.

This is Bryon just being cute!

So we are getting ready for Christmas. We have a tree up. We will travel back home for Christmas to see our family. Then after Christmas we will be celebrating their birthdays!!! Where does time go?

5 Months

"How do you do it?"

Everytime I go out with the babies, I always cause a scene. I can't go out with out someone saying "Are they twins?", "Oh they are sooo cute!" or "Do you get any sleep?" I also get the question..."How do you do it?" Since having the babies I have ventured out by myself. It is not ideal for me to go by myself but, sometimes I have no choice.

On this particular day I had to run to the grocery store. I couldn't wait for my husband to get home. So I loaded the babies up and went. When leaving the store, a lady sees Tay in the top of the bascart and says oh she cute. Then she notices there is another baby, Bryon in the basket part. She looks at me and says "How do you do it?" I simply say its my life...I have no choice.

This is my life. A mother of two wonderful children. Just like any new mother I had to adapt and had to adapt quickly. I don't let the fact that I have 2 babies slow me down. I just think that my motherly instinct kicked in and I have adjusted my life accordingly. I will admit it is hard but it is worth every minute.

As I sit here holding Bryon as I type, I can remember being scared and confused at one time. But those days are over. This is my life and I embrace it.

Recovery

Yesterday I said goodbye to my gall bladder. The surgery went well. The bad thing is I can't nurse till Friday. So the babies are on similac. They are not too happy. During my recovery my hubby is taking me to my aunts while he's at work. I am not to loft the babies. Well of course I didn't listen and I did. I hope to do a video update soon. Until next time....

4 Months Update

The babies are 4 months and are doing well. We have doctor appointment today and that will confirm what I believe. That they are healthy and developing fine. Bryon is getting big like his daddy and Taylor is a princess like her mommy. Here are some recent pics:

I have 2 more weeks of work then I am off indefinetly. I have been laid off. The district I work for had a failed levy and they are doing cuts. So I got cut. I am searching for a new job and hope to be working in the fall.

Also in two weeks I will be having gall bladder surgery. Since having the twins I have been having issues with my gall bladder and having gall stones. I will get my gall bladder removed in two weeks.

By the way...my mother is great. She watches the babies one day a week. And she loves it!

3 Months

April 23, 2010

I have been back to work now for 2 weeks. I have to say these 2 weeks are harder than any other 2 weeks. Trying to juggle work, motherhood and being a wife is no easy task. Lucky for me, being in education I only have about 6 more weeks to work then I am off for the summer.

The first day back to work was hard. For a few weeks the babies are still home with my husband. So when I get up for work, which is 5 am, I don't disturb them. They are sleeping through the night and will sleep till 7-8 am. So it is hard every morning waking up and not spending time with my babies before work. When my husband returns to work, he will be in charge of waking them and taking them to my aunts. I will pick them up in the afternoons.

The best part of my day is when I come home. The babies are so excited to see me as well as me. I am still breastfeeding them so when I get home we get to spend some bonding time. Then I keep moving. Cook dinner, do laundry or what ever I can get accomplished. I still don't see how women can do it all.

I am taking a little time for myself and going to water aerobics twice a week. That is nice to get out and exercise. I got to get this fat tummy in shape!!! I don't know why because it was never in shape anyway! HA!

Hopefully soon I will post a few pictures. I have pictures to post. I just haven't had the time to do it. I have less time now than I did when I was home with them. Hopefully I will do a video update soon as well. Until then....

9 Days

Its nine days till I go back to work. I am so sad to have to leave Bryon and Taylor and go back to the real world. But the good thing is when I go back to work I only have to work 5-6 weeks then I am off for summer break. I love working in education! It will be hard to return to work since I have been off since December 18. The good thing is for 2 weeks my husband will be home with them. Then when he returns to work my aunt will care for them till the summer. So I am blessed that my children will be cared for by someone who loves them just as much as me. I know I can go to work everyday and know that my children are in good hands. If I did not have the family support I don't know what I would do. So I plan to enjoy these next 9 days with the babies before I go back to work. Today we are going to get Easter/Spring pictures. I will post them when I get them.

Feeding Twins

In the video I did not say what bottles I like to use. But I like the Playtex Ventaire Bottles

Sleeping through the night????

The babies are just a little over two months. Today they are exactly 9 weeks. I believe my babies are sleeping through the night. Well at least they did for the past 2 days. So I wont jump for joy just yet.

Its funny. I wake up around 2 because I know its time for a feeding but I hear no cries. My husband will wake up around 3 asking if they are up. Still no cries. We just lay there thinking why sleep they will be up shortly. Well we both doze off. Next thing you know it is 6 am and we are hearing the first signs of a cry. Well at least the first loud cries. So yesterday they slept till 6ish and today 7ish. They go to bed around 10:30 each night. So I am hoping that this pattern continues.

I just recently purchased a mobile for their crib. I did not have one initially because I didn't really realize the function of a mobile. I thought it was just something cute to have on the crib. Well I noticed how much they both enjoy the mobile on their swing so I got one for the bed. I purchased Fisher Price - Smart Response Musical Mobile. I need to add this to my Top Ten list! But this mobile is nice. I turn it on when I put them down at night and it plays for a few minutes and then shuts off. Then if one of them cries it turns back on. So I don't know if the babies are waking at night and the mobile helps soothes them back to sleep. I don't know why they are sleeping at night but I tell you this...Mommy and Daddy are loving the extra sleep!

Top Ten

Well I decided to go back to making videos. For almost a year I had been sharing my experience on Youtube and I actually missed making my videos. So I will do them from time to time. Just not as much as before.

I was insipired to do this video from reading Dakotapam's blog. She made a list of items that was essential for her and her twins. So I did the same. I hope you enjoy the video

Six Weeks

Well what can I say for the first six weeks of motherhood? First and foremost...I love it. I love being the mother to Taylor and Bryon. Everyday it gets easier and better for me.

Both Taylor and Bryon are doing well. At the last doctor appointment Bryon weight 8 lbs 2 oz and Taylor was 8 lbs and 1 oz. Bryon is 23 inches and she is 22 inches. So both babies are doing well.

I am breastfeeding both babies. There are times I want to give up but I realize how important breast milk is for my babies. I do have to supplement with formula. Initially I was not happy about that but I realized for my babies to thrive they needed the formula. I just was not producing enough milk.

I am still off work until April 12. I don't know how I will go back to work. I know now I don't want to leave my babies. But I know they will be in good hands. Luckily for me and my DH we have family who will provide daycare for our babies. I feel comfortable knowing that my aunt will care for our children while we are at work. I feel so blessed to have family support. With out the family support we would be lost.

I will include a few pictures of the babies so you can see how well they are doing.

Contractions

I have been experiencing contractions for a while now in my pregnancy. Those were Braxton Hicks contractions and they never bothered me. Well now I am getting contractions that cause some pain. So now I have decided to count them just to look for patterns. Last night I had a contraction every 30-50 minutes. So they are not coming fast enough to call the doctor. When I get these contractions I can still walk around. It hurts but sometimes when they come on I just want to move to help relieve the tension. So I hope this is a good sign that the babies are coming soon. I go to the doctor on Wednesday and can't wait to see my babies on the ultrasound.

Until next time....
